The Student Success Mentor (SSM) position is a paid on-campus job for LaGuardia students (or recent grads now at a four-year school) who want to help first-year students navigate college. SSMs lead the Studio Hour portion of a First Year Seminar course, guide students through ePortfolio and other assignments, and connect them with campus resources.
- Key responsibilities:
- Facilitating the FYS Studio Hour
- Helping students use tools like DegreeWorks, Brightspace, Navigate, and Microsoft 365
- Collaborating with faculty on content
- Tracking student attendance and progress
- Minimum qualifications:
- GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Completed 24 or more credits
- Current LaGuardia student or recent grad attending a four-year college
- Previous mentoring experience and comfort with ePortfolio/Digication are preferred
- Pay: $19.12/hour with paid training and professional development.
