On-campus Job: Student Success Mentor ($19.12/hour, deadline on 5/20/2026)

The Student Success Mentor (SSM) position is a paid on-campus job for LaGuardia students (or recent grads now at a four-year school) who want to help first-year students navigate college. SSMs lead the Studio Hour portion of a First Year Seminar course, guide students through ePortfolio and other assignments, and connect them with campus resources.

  • Key responsibilities:
    • Facilitating the FYS Studio Hour
    • Helping students use tools like DegreeWorks, Brightspace, Navigate, and Microsoft 365
    • Collaborating with faculty on content
    • Tracking student attendance and progress
  • Minimum qualifications:
    • GPA of 3.2 or higher
    • Completed 24 or more credits
    • Current LaGuardia student or recent grad attending a four-year college
    • Previous mentoring experience and comfort with ePortfolio/Digication are preferred
  • Pay: $19.12/hour with paid training and professional development.
