On-campus job opportunity: Multicultural Exchange Peer Mentors ($17/hour; deadline on 7/18/2022)

The Multicultural Exchange is hiring LaGuardia students to be mentors this upcoming academic year (2022-2023). The Multicultural Exchange is within the Office of Campus Life at LaGuardia. It consists of two peer mentoring programs: https://www.laguardia.edu/student-services/multicultural-exchange/. Black Male Empowerment Cooperative (BMEC) is a project of the CUNY Black Male Initiative (BMI), whose mission is to increase, encourage and support the inclusion and educational success of students from groups that are severely underrepresented in higher education, in particular African, African-American/Black, Caribbean and Latino/Hispanic males. But we’re open to all students. CREAR Futuros (College Readiness, Achievement and Retention) is an initiative of Hispanic Federation and CUNY that is specifically focused on actions that support college access, retention and graduation rates for Latino students in New York.

The program is particularly interested in hiring underrepresented student in higher education, in particular African, African-American/Black, Caribbean and Latino/Hispanic males, but the positions are open to all LaGuardia students.

Qualifications

  • Have a GPA of at least 2.7
  • Completed at least 21 credits
  • Be a LaGuardia student for both Fall 2022 & Spring 2023
  • Available to attend Mandatory Training
