Prof. Kyoko Toyama brought students in her Japanese language classes to “Three Quarters of A Century After Hiroshima and Nagasaki,” an exhibition of Hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors) at the U.N.
The exhibit tells the stories of the Hibakusha through testimonials based on first-hand experiences, along with data and statistics related to nuclear warfare, to exemplify the 70-plus year effort of the survivors and the United Nations to achieve a world without nuclear weapons.
Their visit to the U.N. and the Hibakusha exhibit was featured by NHK (Japan’s national broadcasting network) and the news was aired in Japan yesterday (Tuesday, December 21, 2021).
