A reporter of Mainichi, a major Japanese newspaper, wrote about his experience of an international travel to Japan under the current border control regulations (as of March 2021). Quote: “Japan’s border controls … have been labelled “too lax” by some online. […] Due to cases of people being monitored by police officers during transportation to the hotels, and because surveillance agents standing in the accommodation hallways, some call it ‘forced quarantine.'”
