A major earthquake hit north-east Japan on the March 11th 10 years ago. Devastating damage was caused not only by the earthquake itself, but also by the tsunami, which triggered the Fukushima nuclear accident.
“Footprints & Footsteps: 3.11 and the Future of Tohoku” (https://ff311tohoku.eventive.org) commemorates the earthquake and tsunami through various documentary films about the recovery effort of the Tohoku area by both Japanese and non-Japanese, especially JET Program participants.
