New York de Volunteer (NYdV) is a large volunteer non-profit group led by the Japanese and Japanese-American community members in New York City. They are launching a new virtual language exchange program for those who want to learn Japanese or English, starting in February 2021.

The NYdV Language Exchange Program connects students who are learning Japanese with Japanese NYdV volunteers who want to learn/use/speak English while learning about culture and diversity. This is a one month program. Participants can join the one-on-one pair evenly split between Japanese and English speakers. Participants will talk about topics and play games provided by NYdV before each session. The topics may be about life, culture, current events, etc.. Ideally, participants commit to meet at least once a week for a month or at least once every two weeks.
