NHK, the Japanese national broadcasting cooperation, offers a lot of TV shows and documentaries online (free). Most of the shows discuss different aspects of Japaense culture and life in Japan. All programs are dubbed in English.
You can download the app on Fire TV, Roku, and Apple TV. Also, each show is tagged with topics and you can find right episodes of your interests very easily. For example, below is the list of episodes (from different shows) on the topic of “washoku”

Each short video clip introduces different poular culture in Tokyo.
- Document 72 hours
Each 60-min show features a relatively unknown location in Japan. A TV crew stay there for 72 hours and interview local people.
- Japanology Plus
Peter Barakan introduces different topics of Japanese culture. One of the most famous show in NHK.
