Gilman-McCain Scholarship is a national study abroad scholarship funded by the Department of State for undergraduate child dependents of active duty service members. This scholarship will cover the study abroad expenses up to $5,000.

Mission: The U.S. Department of State’s Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. The John McCain International Scholarship for the Children of Military Families (Gilman-McCain Scholarship) is open to eligible students enrolled at accredited U.S. colleges and universities who receive any type of Title IV federal financial aid.
Amount: $5,000
Deadline: The program (either in-person or virtual study abroad) should take place between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022. The deadline is August 1, 2021.
