LaGuardia Community College’s Transfer Engagement Initiative (TEI) offers opportunities and events for students to prepare for the upcoming transfer application season. The initiative aims to support students through faculty, advisors, and staff referrals while also offering numerous events and scholarship opportunities to ensure a smooth transition for those aiming to transfer to CUNY 4-year campuses and other prestigious universities.
Transfer Application Platforms:
- CUNY Application: A rolling application process with different priority dates. U.S. citizens have a priority date of February 1, 2025, while international students have a deadline of December 15, 2024. - Common Application: Deadlines vary by college. For more information, students can visit https://www.commonapp.org.
Credit Transfer Tools
- T-Rex: The CUNY Transfer Tool helps students understand how their credits can transfer from their current institution to a CUNY college. This tool can be accessed through https://explorer.cuny.edu for planning accurate transfer assessments.

Transfer Events in Spring 2025
- Spring Transfer Fair: 35+ reps will be on campus to speak with students. Please reach out if you are interested in having a table or a class attend the event. Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 11:00 – 6:00 PM, E-Atrium.
- Vassar College’s Exploring Transfer Application: Summer Immersion Program with a deadline on Thursday, February 28, 2025.
- Georgetown University’s Preferred Consideration Program: Faculty and staff can submit a recommendation form and brief statement on behalf of students, enhancing their application portfolio. Although special attention is provided, admission is not guaranteed. Offered with competitive financial packages, including full funding possibilities.
- Rutgers University – New Brunswick Transfer Scholarship: Targeted at Biology, Environmental Science, and Vet Tech students interested in an Animal Sciences bachelor’s degree. The scholarship covers full out-of-state tuition, meals, fees, and housing at Rutgers SEBS, with collaborative support between Rutgers and LaGuardia teams. The deadline is Saturday, March 1, 2025.
- CUNY Macaulay Honors Friedman Scholars Program: CUNY Macaulay Honors Friedman Scholars Program Virtual Information Session on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 6:00 PM. Spring Transfer Fair on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at E-Atrium, where over 35 representatives will meet with students; opportunities exist for classes or individual tables.
- Queens College’s Transfer Honors Program: Queens College’s Transfer Honors Program Information Session on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 2:15 to 3:15 PM at Poolside Cafe. Queens College Transfer Day, in collaboration with Q-STEM, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at E-Atrium.
- NYU CCTOP: NYU CCTOP Virtual Information Sessions on February 25, March 8, April 9, and May 7, 2025.
