Are you a CUNY student looking to broaden your horizons and experience the culture and language of Japan? The City University of New York (CUNY) is organizing an exciting array of summer study abroad programs, and two of its campuses, College of Staten Island (CSI) and Lehman College, are offering study abroad programs in Japan during Summer 2025. These programs are open to all CUNY students, including those at LaGuardia students.
Most study abroad programs are held in early summer (June-July) and last between 2-3 weeks, offering an excellent balance of intensive learning and cultural exploration. The programs typically grant about 6 credits, which can often be used to fulfill major requirements, such as Japanese language classes. The approximate cost for these immersive experiences is about $5,000, covering airfare, meals and accommodation, and program fees. However, be prepared to budget additional funds for personal expenses like local excursions and dining at restaurants.
