SOAR Internship Program in Fall 2024 ($2,000 internship stipend; deadline on 6/27/2024)

The SOAR Experiential Learning Program at LaGuardia Community College is a pipeline program that connects students with paid internship opportunities in various sectors, including community-based organizations, government agencies, and private companies. The program aims to provide students with hands-on experience, skills, and knowledge in their field of study. It is open to students of all majors who meet the eligibility criteria, which includes being enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits for the relevant semester, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5, and having a minimum of 15 credits. The program offers a paid internship opportunity, with the hourly rate of $20, and typically involves 10-12 hours of work per week.

The Fall 2024 SOAR application is now open and available for students to begin applying.

  • SOAR Internship Program:
    • Fall Session I (October-December)
    • 10 hours a week, 12 weeks, 120 hours in total $2,000 stipend
    • Funded by the LaGuardia Community College Foundation
  • Elmezzi Career Fellows Program
    • Fall Session I and II (October-February)
    • 10 hours a week, 12 weeks, 120 hours in total $16.50 an hour
    • Funded by the Elmezzi Foundation, only students who live in Queens County are eligible

Student Eligibility Criteria

  • All majors
  • Enrolled for a minimum of 6 academic credits for Fall 2024, Session I and II
  • 2.5 GPA and higher
  • A minimum of 15 accumulative credits
