New York Taiko Aiko Kai (NYTAK), based at Teachers College, Columbia University is presenting at a virtual concert, Kyomei 共鳴 (Resonate) with eight other taiko groups in the metropolitan area. Our own Kyoko Toyama is a member of this taiko drum team.
The purpose of our joint concert is not only share our culture and the beauty of taiko drumming but also to raise funds for Asian American Legal Defense Fund (AALDF), the organization that protects and promotes the civil rights of Asian Americans.
