A great piece of the Japanology Plus episode on a Japanophiles. Bruce Gutlove was a professional wine consultant who had an established career in Napa Valley in California. After life’s twists and turns, he is currently running a wine vineyard in Hokkaido Prefecture (yes, in the coldest prefecture in Japan).
It sounds very odd, but his life story was full of surprises and first-hand experience how Japan has incorporated Western wine culture into its drinking culture.
It’s a great episode and is worth watching.
